Corporate Controller -- Business Controlling, Management Reporting, Business Intelligence & Corporate Development

Industry: Large German Retailer

Location: Bonn area, Germany (hybrid)

Role Overview

This position sits at the heart of our client's corporate finance and performance steering. You will act as a finance business partner to senior management, providing transparency on business performance, developing KPIs and forecasts, and supporting strategic and operational decision-making. The role also offers strong exposure to transformation projects (e.g., SAP S/4HANA implementation, finance process digitalization, and advanced forecasting models).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of business and financial performance to support management decisions
  • Work closely with executive leadership as a Finance Business Partner in operational steering
  • Evaluate and further develop key performance indicators (KPIs), and derive revenue, earnings, and liquidity forecasts
  • Prepare business cases, profitability analyses, and investment evaluations
  • Design, build, and continuously improve management reporting for senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Analyze company performance and derive concrete optimization measures
  • Support strategic and operational projects, e.g.:
    • SAP S/4HANA implementation
    • Digitalization of finance processes
    • Development of intelligent forecasting and planning models

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a comparable field, ideally with a focus on Controlling, Finance, or Corporate Development
  • Several years of experience in Controlling and/or management consulting with a focus on Finance (exact number of years is not critical)
  • Strong Excel skills; SAP experience is a plus (S/4HANA CO and FI preferred)
  • High numerical affinity, analytical mindset, and strong understanding of business models
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex topics clearly to different stakeholders
