Senior IT System Engineer - On-Site Support Sanitätsakademie (m/f/d)
Starting immediately in Munich.
The Special Tasks department is part of IT Operations Management 6 (ITOM 6) within Central Operations 2. It is responsible for coordinating and fulfilling deliveries and services related to the IT contracts of Bundeswehr hospitals with BWI, in connection with the digitalization of healthcare for the Bundeswehr. The GesVersBw Operations department is responsible for the operational services of the medical IT systems of Bundeswehr hospitals.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the existing admin team in the administration of Windows-based client/server systems directly on-site.
- Administer and optimize the virtual desktop infrastructure based on Omnissa Horizon and VMware.
- Create and manage Golden Images (ideally automated) and AppVolumes, and deploy applications via Terminal Services.
- Perform error analysis and resolve hardware and software issues within the scope of 1st and 2nd level support.
- Accompany rollouts and technical assessments of new hardware components.
Your Profile:
- Completed vocational training in IT or a comparable qualification.
- Approximately 5 years of relevant professional experience, with sound knowledge in administering VMware environments and experience with Omnissa Horizon (VDI).
- Proficient in MS Windows Server/Client operating systems, Active Directory, and AppVolumes for dynamic application deployment.
- Experience with Terminal Services, ideally an ITIL certification (v3 or v4 Foundation), and/or a Microsoft certification (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Modern Desktop Administrator).
- Good teamwork and communication skills, empathy, resilience to stress, decisiveness, and a service-oriented approach.
- Fluent in spoken and written German.
