Sales Director EMEA -- Biopharma & Biotech

Location: Germany (Home-Office)

Travel: ~50% across Europe

Compensation:

  • Base salary up to €160,000 basic
  • 40% bonus on target earnings

We are representing a fast-growing, international life sciences group that has experienced strong year-on-year growth and has successfully acquired multiple complementary businesses over the past few years.

The company is continuing its expansion across Europe and is now looking for a high-impact Sales Director EMEA to provide clear commercial direction, accelerate growth, and build a world-class sales organisation across Biopharma and Biotech markets.

This is a player-manager role for a sales-hungry, driven leader who thrives on winning business, leading from the front, and building high-performing teams in complex, technical markets.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Growth

  • Define and execute the EMEA sales strategy across key European Biopharma and Biotech markets
  • Drive revenue growth across capital equipment, consumables, and service contracts
  • Lead commercial integration and growth following recent and future acquisitions
  • Expand direct customer relationships and displace competitors
  • Build strong relationships with strategic accounts, decision makers, and industry leaders

Team Leadership (Hands-On)

  • Lead, manage, and coach a team of 9 Key Account Managers and Sales Representatives across Europe
  • Set a high-performance, results-driven sales culture
  • Remain hands-on in key accounts and major opportunities
  • Run regular 1:1s, pipeline reviews, forecast calls, and deal coaching sessions
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top commercial talent

Sales Execution & Operational Excellence

  • Drive disciplined territory planning, account mapping, and pipeline management
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and strong CRM usage (Salesforce)
  • Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and complex deal execution
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Applications, Inside Sales, and Service teams

Candidate Profile

This role is suited to a commercial leader who is still a player, with a strong appetite for growth, accountability, and results.

You must have:

  • Proven Biopharma and Biotech sales experience
  • 10+ years of senior sales leadership experience in life sciences
  • A strong background in capital equipment sales with complex sales cycles
  • Experience leading and scaling multinational sales teams
  • A track record of exceeding revenue targets
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English & German
  • Must be based in Germany and willing to travel across EMEA
