About the Job

We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join Danelec's cruise department in Germany.

You'll join a close-knit team of five, based in Hamburg. With great team spirit, we are taking care of the technical and commercial matters of our cruise segment. We love what we do and enjoy tackling new challenges together. Supported by various departments based in Denmark, Poland and other own offices, we take centralized care of our cruise customers.

The key responsibility will be to provide expert assistance to customers and partners on Danelec systems, mainly for Voyage Data Recorder (VDR), and for our own software, Maritime Data Engine (MDE) as well as other digital maritime solutions.

You will perform remote configuration of Danelec products and ensure data is always accessible. Furthermore, you will support interfacing between Danelec systems and third-party products, ensuring compatibility and functionality.

In exchange with our customers and partners, you will handle support requests via our Microsoft ticketing system, operating primarily in a Windows-based environment.

From time to time, you will have the opportunity to attend a vessel. You will be working closely with R&D, service coordination as well as our global service teams, and you will report to our Support Manager in Germany.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote technical support, majorly for our cruise customers and service partners' engineers
  • Troubleshoot systems and solve technical issues in real time
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to drive exciting projects forward
  • Review service reports and support documentation to identify actions, ensuring highest service quality
  • Ensure that KPIs on response and resolution time are met

Who Are You & What Are Your Qualifications

  • Basic experience with navigational equipment, and in serial/ analog/ NMEA interfacing
  • Customer focused mindset with a proactive approach, solving technical issues
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Work effectively across departments and with international customers & partners
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment with shifting priorities
  • Microsoft Office user & Ticket system user
  • Knowledge in a programming language would be a plus
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication in English and German
