Your Tasks

In the Cloud Storage area, a new team is being formed that will play a central role in the further development of our cloud strategy. We operate and further develop the object storage platform, which forms an important foundation for the transformation of the DATEV product portfolio from on-premise to online solutions. We work closely with various product and infrastructure teams and create solutions that are reliable and secure for DATEV in the long term.

• You ensure the stable, performant, and secure operation of our object storage platform, including monitoring, incident and change management, and capacity planning.

• You design and further develop our object storage environments (currently Ceph and Cloudian).

• You automate workflows and processes (e.g., with Ansible or Python) to increase efficiency and reliability.

• You integrate the storage solutions into our infrastructure platforms (IaaS, PaaS, CaaS).

• You build and operate Linux systems from setup to lifecycle management and work closely with internal customers as well as manufacturers and suppliers.

• You acquire knowledge in the administration, operation, and monitoring of object storage systems, especially Ceph and Cloudian HyperStore.

• Integration of the object store into PaaS/CaaS environments (including service integration).

• You will learn about processes and workflows in data center operations (change, incident, problem, and capacity management).

• You will expand your knowledge of end-to-end infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible roles, CI/CD pipelines for operational tasks) and platform enablement for internal customers (service onboarding, documentation, knowledge transfer).

Your Profile

• You have successfully completed a degree in computer science or a comparable field with several years of professional experience, or a comparable vocational training with many years of professional experience.
• You have sound knowledge in operating Linux systems, including network basics.
• You have basic knowledge of automation and scripting, e.g., Ansible and/or Python.
• Communicating appropriately with different stakeholders and collaborating with them is second nature to you.
• A structured, independent way of working and teamwork characterize you.
• You are willing to participate in on-call duty.
