About this job

We are actively shaping the mobility landscape of today and tomorrow -- visually, strategically, and with a high demand for results.

As a design partner for companies in public transport (ÖV), such as transport companies and associations, we drive projects forward where orientation, communication, brand, and passenger information come together.

For this, we are looking for a personality who is proficient in design and conception, works in a structured manner, and understands design as a contribution to better mobility. A formal degree is not a must -- what counts is a convincing, robust portfolio and the right motivation.

Your tasks with us

  • Development and implementation of communication and design concepts for projects in public transport.
  • Design of infographics, plans, maps, passenger information, campaign elements, and other visual formats.
  • Creation of clear, functional, and at the same time aesthetically high-quality layouts -- print and digital.
  • Responsibility for design topics with your own clients and sub-projects -- from idea to implementation.

What you bring to the table

  • A strong, robust portfolio in communication design.
  • Several years of professional experience -- ideally with a connection to public transport, public communication, or similar fields.
  • Confident conceptual thinking and a strong sense for typography, structure, and visual systems.
  • Precise, meticulous work and a high awareness of quality.
  • Very good knowledge of Adobe CC (Illustrator, InDesign; Motion is a plus).
  • Experience in remote work: independent, clearly structured, reliable in coordination and handovers.
  • Very good German language skills, both written and spoken; English skills are an advantage.
  • Experience in digital collaboration (e.g., Miro, Asana, Teams).

Desirable, but not a must

  • Knowledge of accessibility, cartography, public transport structures, or information architecture.
  • Experience in customer contact or in interdisciplinary project environments.

What is important to us

  • We are a small, focused team -- responsibility, reliability, and clear communication are essential.
  • We are looking for someone who combines design with attitude: precise, open, constructive, solution-oriented.
  • Willingness to familiarize yourself with public transport topics -- we will naturally support this process.

What awaits you

  • A dedicated team that believes in design as a lever, takes design seriously, and involves you on an equal footing.
  • A topic with social impact: design that makes mobility more tangible, understandable, and accessible.
  • Remote-First: Work from anywhere in Germany (possible to work from other EU countries temporarily).
  • Modern work environment, professional tools, transparent collaboration.
  • Flexible working time models depending on your life situation.

Please apply by email with the following documents

  • CV
  • Motivation letter
  • Portfolio / References
  • Short introductory video (max. 2 minutes)

In the video, briefly tell us:

  • Why are you a good fit for DID?
  • How do you imagine a workday with us?
  • What connects you to public transport?

The video helps us get a feel for your communication style and motivation early on.

The application deadline is January 29, 2026.

We will review all applications collectively and will get back to you in the first week of February with invitations for initial interviews.
