In your role as Senior React (Native) Developer (m/f/d) at our Hamburg location, you can make your personal contribution to our goals.

Your Responsibilities

As part of an agile team, you will develop the frontend of our B2C apps for EDEKA, Marktkauf, and trinkgut, based on React Native and Java, as well as other cross-platform applications used by several million registered users.

With a state-of-the-art stack (including TypeScript and RxJS, React Native, Redux, Styled Components, Jest, and Storybook), you will develop new functions, features, and work on our Server-Driven UI Framework.

• Develop and implement high-quality, cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native and TypeScript.
• Actively participate in the architecture and technical design of new features and applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Ensure high code quality through code reviews, adherence to best practices, and implementation of automated tests (unit, integration, E2E).
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.
• Identify and fix complex bugs, optimize app performance, and continuously improve user experience.
• Support and coach less experienced team members, actively sharing knowledge within the team.
• Monitor current technology trends and evaluate their potential application to our products.

Your Profile

• Successfully completed a degree or vocational training with an IT focus, or possess equivalent qualifications.
• Solid experience in developing cross-platform applications with React Native in a product-focused environment (ideally in the context of brand apps or feature teams), with sound knowledge of JavaScript (ES6 ), TypeScript, React Native, and Redux (or similar state management libraries).
• Deep understanding of mobile ecosystems (iOS and Android platforms) and their specific characteristics.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and ideally GraphQL, as well as proficiency in (unit) testing with frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, Detox, or Appium.
• Very good knowledge of version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Fastlane).
• Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, communication, and a proactive approach.
• Willingness to undertake regular business trips to Amsterdam to exchange ideas with colleagues from our partner company, Picnic Technologies, on common standards in application development.
• Fluent German language skills (minimum C1) and good English language skills (minimum B2), both written and spoken.
