About Elevat

Elevat is a SaaS solution for industrial OEMs that utilizes IoT and AI to solve challenges around remote service and diagnostics for complex machinery. We help manufacturers monitor equipment health, troubleshoot issues faster, and improve uptime for their customers---securely and at scale.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on engineer who thrives at the intersection of software engineering, DevOps, and production operations to help us evolve and run our EU platform . In this role, you'll focus on strengthening the foundations that EU-hosted services depend on: reliable environments, safe delivery pipelines, strong observability, and operational readiness.

You'll collaborate closely with a distributed global engineering organization to ensure services are deployable, operable, and resilient in EU production. You'll also work with German-based OEM customers when EU integrations or production issues require engineering involvement---turning real-world feedback into platform and operational improvements.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys "build it, ship it, run it" work---where the primary product is a high-quality platform and operational practice , not just application features.

What You'll Do

  • Evolve our EU platform and production environments by improving how services are provisioned, deployed, operated, and scaled.
  • Build and maintain developer enablement and DevOps capabilities, such as CI/CD workflows, release tooling, automation, and environment consistency.
  • Own and improve observability and operational readiness in the EU region: monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and incident response practices.
  • Act as L2 support for critical EU services---diagnosing production issues, mitigating impact, driving root cause analysis, and coordinating fixes with SRE/DevOps and product teams.
  • Strengthen reliability, security, scalability, and automation best practices across EU systems and operations.
  • Ensure systems and processes operating in the EU align with GDPR and data protection best practices, particularly around production operations and data handling.
  • Partner directly with German-based OEM customers on EU-facing integrations and escalations, translating customer needs into concrete platform and operational improvements.
  • Work closely with engineers in Pacific Time (PT) , maintaining sufficient daily time overlap for standups, pairing, and incident handling.
  • Help define and grow our future Elevat Germany-based team as we expand our European footprint.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

  • Several years (typically 4--8 ) of professional experience as a Software Engineer , Platform Engineer , DevOps Engineer , or SRE working on production systems.
  • Demonstrated experience owning production outcomes: deployments, monitoring/alerting, incident response, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience improving engineering systems beyond a single service---e.g., shared tooling, platform capabilities, operational standards, or reliability initiatives.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on ability in backend development (e.g., Java, C#, Node.js, Go, or similar).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and modern DevOps practices (build/release automation, environment management, safe rollout patterns).
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting distributed systems in production.

Data Protection & Compliance:

  • Awareness of GDPR requirements, especially around operational practices, data handling, residency, and production security (hands-on experience is a strong plus).

Customer & Collaboration Skills:

  • Comfortable interacting with OEM / enterprise customers, particularly in Germany, to understand issues and requirements and drive technical follow-through.
  • Strong communication skills in a distributed environment; able to explain complex topics clearly and work across teams/time zones.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams in Pacific Time, including a reliable overlapping working window.

Language & Location:

  • Fluent English is required; German language skills are a strong advantage for working with local OEM customers.
  • Based in Germany , ideally in or near Nuremberg or Munich , and able to work fully remote .

Why This Role Is Interesting

  • Platform ownership with real impact: Your work directly improves the stability, safety, and speed of shipping in our EU environments.
  • Hands-on scope: A practical mix of engineering DevOps L2 production operations, grounded in real production needs.
  • Customer proximity: Work closely with German OEM customers and see how platform/ops decisions affect real integrations and production behavior.
  • Growth path: Opportunity to help build and shape a growing German/EU engineering presence over time.
  • Global collaboration: Work with experienced engineers across regions, especially in North America (PT).
