The Erzbischöfliches Generalvikariat is the central administration of the Archdiocese of Cologne. With around 800 employees, we handle the financial, construction, and personnel administration of the Archdiocese of Cologne and serve as a service center for church parishes and institutions. The Evangelizing Communication department is newly established within the Strategy & Evangelization area. The goal is to complement existing communication with a theologically founded, missionary/evangelizing, and narrative dimension in order to convey the message of the Gospel independently, credibly, and professionally - especially via social media, podcasts, videos, and other digital formats. This also includes establishing and strengthening role models in communication and maintaining relevant networks. In this position, you can significantly help shape the department. Your Tasks

• Content, strategic, and organizational control of topics and editorial planning for evangelizing communication
• Conception and further development of editorial guidelines, narratives, and thematic priorities, as well as writing texts, scripts, and contributions
• Coordination of the entire production and publication process, including editorial workflows, team organization, and coordination with the Media & Communication department
• Development of innovative digital formats for evangelization and formats for positioning the Cardinal, and participation in their implementation
• Ongoing monitoring of topics, trends, and social developments, as well as derivation of strategic impulses and recommendations

Your Profile

• Master's degree in Communication, Journalism, Theology, or related fields, or equivalent qualification
• Several years of professional editorial experience, ideally in a church or socio-political context, as well as very good knowledge of church topics
• Experience in strategic communication, text work, and editorial coordination, as well as a structured and reliable way of working
• Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a confident and resilient demeanor
• Teamwork and flexibility, including willingness to travel and occasional evening/weekend work
• Conscious belonging to the Catholic Church and identification with the tasks, goals, and values of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Cologne
