About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst acts as a trusted business partner for the assigned Business Unit within the Semiconductor Equipment Division. This role provides critical support and insights, serving as a reliable advisor for business decisions, customer inquiries, and the development of business cases, with a focus on pricing and margin development. The Senior Financial Analyst is also responsible for tracking R&D projects, analyzing performance metrics, interpreting P&L statements, contributing to Division Operating Reviews, and evaluating other key performance indicators (KPIs). This position is based in Göttingen and reports directly to the Senior Director of Finance of the Semiconductor Equipment Division.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers and R&D Leads to provide analysis and tools for explaining P&L and FOCF drivers and optimizing performance.
- Communicate variance analyses to relevant managers.
- Track projects and NPIs, conducting phase-gate reviews from R&D to production.
- Support Monthly Operating Reports (MORs) with schedules and analyses.
- Review and adjust pricing to maximize profitability.
- Forecast product line revenues and margins in collaboration with front-end and functional leads.
- Maintain and upload forecast data into OneStream.
- Review final P&L statements, including Operating Costs of Goods Sold (OCOGs).
- Manage GAAP revenue recognition plans and analyze associated bookings.
- Track and analyze R&D projects and their bookings.
- Support allocation processes for assigning expenses to cost centers and profit centers.
- Create margin reports and variance analyses (SOX-relevant).
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and business cases for new product introductions, investments, and M&A.
- Participate in external audits concerning revenue and business matters.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable qualification; an MBA is advantageous.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in finance or accounting, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Profound knowledge of AX, SAP, and Power BI systems.
- Familiarity with S4/HANA and planning/reporting tools like Hyperion or OneStream is a plus.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally at all organizational levels.
- Independent, responsible work ethic and high intellectual curiosity.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in regulated environments (ISO 9001, 14001, 13485, FDA-QSR) is beneficial.
