Your Responsibilities

• Maintenance and care of the IT systems in software and hardware (Linux & Windows: servers, NAS, workstations, PCs, clusters) at all locations of the chair including transport and commissioning of the systems
• Planning and implementation of infrastructure projects
• Creating and managing users (Linux and Windows systems) including implementing complex rights management
• User support for hardware and software issues on site at all department locations and via the network
• Procurement of hardware and software in accordance with FAU guidelines
• Installation and updating of complex software (CAD, FE, Office and others) and setting up license servers

Your Profile

• Completed university degree (Bachelor/Diploma [FH]) in the field of computer science or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in the IT sector
• Very good knowledge of the operating systems MS Windows and Ubuntu
• Very good knowledge of the administration of Windows Server 2019 and 2022 (Active Directory, DNS, Firewall, GroupPolicies)
• Good knowledge of common backup systems, as well as good knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially Hyper-V
• Ideally detailed hardware knowledge
• Very good knowledge of German (at least C1 level) and good knowledge of English (at least B2 level)
• Independent and reliable way of working
• High resilience and commitment
• Ability to learn in a constantly changing field of activity
• Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
