Junior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

About The Role

• Build our cloud! Design, deploy, monitor and maintain our infrastructure that hosts FlixBus: Convenient and affordable bus travel in the US and the services it depends on, which is comprised of multiple Kubernetes clusters on AWS (provisioned with Terraform).
• Don't repeat yourself! Automate everything and use Infrastructure as Code.
• Speak freely! Develop ops-related solutions, preferably in languages like Bash or Python.
• Go team! Educate and support other teams to enable them to fully utilize our stack.
• Fix it for everyone! Contribute to open-source projects and upstream repositories for code we use.
• Decisions, decisions... Evaluate interesting new technologies and come up with strategies to implement them.
• Don't panic! Spot and troubleshoot problems using our monitoring systems and use your insights to improve our disaster recovery plan.
• Be alert! Participate in our 24/7 on-call rotation, which ensures our systems' uptime as well as the off-call team members' downtime.

About You

• Knowledge of a general programming language (e.g. Python, Javascript, Golang)
• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX and the shell
• Hands-on experience with Containerization
• Solid understanding of common network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
• Understanding of IaC
• Knowledge of CI/CD
• Good technical communication skills
• Very good command of English

Preferred experience

• Experience deploying infrastructure via Terraform or similar technologies
• Experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog
• Experience with a public cloud
• Experience in improving Developer Experience
