As a Senior Applied Scientist specializing in demand forecasting, you will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to design and deliver next-generation forecasting solutions.

Your work will directly support inventory planning, stock optimization, and improved product availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the team roadmap and collaborate with product managers and engineers on high-impact initiatives
  • Conceptualize, prototype, and productionize state-of-the-art demand forecasting models
  • Own the full lifecycle of forecasting algorithms, from opportunity discovery to production deployment
  • Continuously improve models by exploring new data sources, methodologies, and problem formulations
  • Communicate technical concepts and results effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Build scalable model pipelines and streamline analytical workflows using modern data science tools

Required Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, economics, physics, or operations research
  • Strong theoretical foundation in statistics, time series analysis, econometrics, and machine learning
  • Knowledge of causal inference is a strong plus
  • At least 5 years of industry experience (or 3 years with a PhD) developing forecasting models
  • Deep understanding of statistical and machine learning forecasting techniques, with a pragmatic mindset
  • Extensive experience with Python and its data science ecosystem, including production-quality code
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with optimization tools (e.g. Gurobi)
  • Experience working with large-scale data and production ML systems
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
