About the Role
This is a hybrid role for someone who loves building software and building relationships. You will work across our full stack --- from data processing to model development to production systems --- while also helping us grow our investor base and strategic partnerships. As an early team member, your work goes live and has real impact, both technically and commercially.
What You Will Do
Engineering
- Build and improve our AI training and inference pipelines
- Develop data processing systems for financial documents and structured data
- Implement and optimize portfolio construction algorithms
- Contribute to our product development for financial analysts
- Analyze results, identify improvements, and iterate --- follow the gradient
Business Development
- Identify and develop relationships with potential investors and institutional clients
- Build partnerships with financial institutions, family offices, and asset managers
- Support fundraising and capital acquisition efforts
- Conduct market research on industry trends and competitive landscape
- Help shape the go-to-market strategy for our products
- Represent Gradient Technologies at industry events and conferences
- Prepare investor presentations and pitch materials
What We Are Looking For
- Proficiency in Python
- Interest in machine learning and AI
- Comfort with data processing and numerical computing
- Genuine interest in financial markets and the investment industry
- Strong communication skills in both English and German
- Self-starter mentality --- we value efficiency over complexity
- Analytical mindset and comfort with data-driven decision making
- Eagerness to learn and iterate --- we believe in doing the obvious things well
Nice to Have
- Experience with modern ML frameworks and model training
- Knowledge of financial markets or quantitative finance
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and GPU computing
- Understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes
- Network in the German financial and investment industry
- Understanding of fund structures and financial regulation
- Previous startup or early-stage company experience
