Role Description
This is a part-time CTO Co-Founder role with equity compensation, based in Berlin, Germany in a hybrid setup (on-site collaboration in Berlin with flexibility to work from home). The CTO Co-Founder will define and own the overall technology vision, architecture, and roadmap for the GrowFirma platform, including AI-enabled features and integrations with third-party tools.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Leading software development efforts.
- Making build/buy decisions.
- Setting standards for code quality, security, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborating with the founding team on product strategy.
- Translating business goals into technical plans and milestones.
- Prioritizing features for rapid experimentation and learning.
- Building and managing technical vendors or contractors.
- Contributing to investor discussions, pitch materials, and technical due diligence.
Qualifications
- Strong software development background with hands-on experience in modern web application stacks and cloud infrastructure.
- Demonstrated skills in IT strategy and technical architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
- Experience in product development and project management, including translating product requirements into technical roadmaps and delivering on timelines.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate in early-stage startup environments, ideally as a founding or early technical leader.
- Comfort working part-time initially with equity-based compensation, with interest in increasing involvement as the company scales.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and investors. German is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, data-driven products, or founder tools is a strong plus.
- Located in or willing to relocate to Berlin, Germany, with the ability to work in a hybrid arrangement.
