The Role: SaaS Account Manager (f/m/d)
The Account Manager (f/m/d) is responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy within their assigned territory, focusing on the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). This role is crucial for developing new business in a high-potential market. We are seeking a driven commercial sales professional motivated by opening new opportunities, building market presence, and establishing IDBS as a strategic partner in the biopharma and biotech sectors.
This position reports to the Director, European Sales and is part of the EMEA Sales Team. The role is fully remote within Germany, with regular travel required.
In this new-business-focused role, you will build your business by identifying, engaging, and converting mid- to large-sized accounts across the region. You will play a critical part in accelerating growth in a territory with significant potential and several high-value targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume territorial and account management responsibilities, developing regional prospect pipelines for assigned biopharma and biotech accounts.
- Expand commercial relationships with existing clients for both current and new IDBS offerings.
- Own the development and execution of account plans for target accounts.
- Develop and progress new pipeline within the territory to achieve regional and personal sales targets.
- Effectively promote and educate targeted accounts on industry challenges and how IDBS solutions can positively impact their business through one-on-one meetings, group presentations, and industry conferences.
- Ensure strong performance in call and field productivity.
- Achieve regional sales goals while adhering to all ethical sales practices, compliance guidelines, and promotional regulations.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in SaaS Sales, comfortable navigating 12-18 month sales cycles.
- Experience managing complex deals and engaging with multiple stakeholders, including VP and C-Level decision-makers.
- Proficiency with a sales methodology; Challenger Sale experience is preferred.
- Background in Science and Scientific Sales; Life science sales or informatics experience is preferred.
- Fluency in both English and German.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel 25-50%. Regular travel is expected to visit customers within the territory.
- International or overnight travel may be required for conferences or company events.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience in R&D, process development, or manufacturing within the biopharma industry.
