The Role

At Idneo, we are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team based in Mollet del Vallès (Barcelona), Spain. This is a hybrid working position.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial automation projects for the technical part.
• Define the software architecture of the PLC, according to the functionalities defined by the client.
• Program the software according to the defined requirements, working closely with the mechanical and electrical hardware teams.
• Perform start-up and debugging of errors during the manufacturing phase and validate the machine.
• Collaborate and communicate with the customer on the progress of project activities.
• Support and coordinate installation/commissioning activities and related on-site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance delivery.
• Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning and implement corrective actions.
• Execute functional, performance, FAT, and SAT tests to ensure systems meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading automation engineering projects.
• TIA PORTAL programming experience.
• Proven experience as a commissioning / start-up engineer in automation environments.
• Knowledge of industrial control cabinets.
• Knowledge of actuators, sensors, and pneumatics.
• Knowledge of Regulatory and Safety machinery in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of ATEX regulations.
• Strong customer-oriented mindset and communication skills.
• Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
