About the Role

You will take end-to-end functional ownership of customer projects in the aviation industry -- from requirements elicitation with the customer through specification to leading the delivery team and ensuring successful release. You combine product thinking, technical understanding, and project steering in one role and are the central point of contact between customer and development team. Aviation industry experience is a plus, but not a must -- career changers from other technology- or data-driven industries are explicitly welcome.

Your Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements directly with the customer, challenge them constructively, and translate them into clean functional and technical specifications (user stories, acceptance criteria, data models, interface descriptions).
  • Lead the project team functionally through all project phases -- from kick-off and sprint planning to acceptance.
  • Own scope, timeline, budget, and quality of your projects and communicate transparently with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Confidently moderate customer meetings and workshops -- in both German and English.
  • Make independent product decisions by aligning customer requests with our existing solutions and standards and finding the best path together with architects and developers.
  • Maintain and prioritize the backlog, safeguard testability and technical feasibility, and accompany implementation through go-live.
  • Actively use AI-powered tools to make your work (requirements documentation, spec writing, stakeholder communication) more efficient.

Your Profile

  • Bring at least 3 years of professional experience as a Product Owner, Solution Manager, Consultant, or in a comparable customer-facing role in IT/software projects.
  • Have demonstrable experience in requirements management, writing specifications, and project management.
  • Confidently work with Jira, Confluence, and Draw.io and bring a solid technical understanding of APIs and data models.
  • Work in a structured, self-driven, and decisive way.
  • Have experience integrating AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) productively into your daily work -- or are eager to expand this.
  • Communicate confidently in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • May already have some exposure to the aviation industry -- welcome, but not a prerequisite.

What We Offer

  • Real decision-making authority in your projects.
  • Operate in a stable, industry-leading environment with international aviation clients (airlines, airports, ATC) and long-term customer relationships.
  • Modern tooling and hardware: Jira, Confluence, Draw.io, plus actively used AI tools (Claude, Copilot & Co.) as a natural part of our workflow.
  • Support with a structured onboarding into the team and the aviation domain.
  • Choice: home office within Germany or our Frankfurt office -- up to 100% either way.
  • Enable workations, allowing you to work from other EU countries.
  • Competitive salary as well as an occupational pension scheme.
  • Flat hierarchies with short decision paths -- no micromanagement, but honest responsibility.
