Join a team of researchers as an individual contributor to design, develop, execute and implement scientific research projects to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of wireless and multimodal sensing.
Develop systems, technologies and algorithms for multimodal sensing using wireless communications technologies (such as Wi-Fi, radar, etc.) and vision. Demonstrate new usages and applications such as activity recognition, gesture recognition etc. that can leverage multiple sensors such as cameras, Wi-Fi, etc. Develop concepts, PoCs and technologies typically 2+ years prior to landing on a product roadmap. Plan and execute laboratory research. Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the art principles and theories and contribute to scientific literature and conferences. May participate in development of intellectual property. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts with universities. Typically holds a PhD.

Qualifications
Experiences listed may be obtained through academic coursework or projects, prior internships, or comparable industry roles.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any related field
- Experience developing multimodal fusion and sensing systems utilizing some combination of modalities such as vision, wireless, language, audio, inertial sensors, etc.
- Experience developing systems for sensing and context awareness, machine learning, deep learning, transfer learning
- Basic familiarity with wireless systems such as Wi-Fi and radar systems
- Experience with python and AI/ML frameworks such as pytorch, tensorflow, etc.
- Proper handling of research data including but not limited to documentation, software code, and software tools according to data management policies of the project
- Excellent documentation, verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with consortiums and research organizations
- Problem solving skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Adaptability to changing business and organizational priorities
- Have written research publications in top-tier venues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with EU Horizon research projects
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art research in teacher-student networks, supervised/unsupervised/semi-supervised training
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art multimodal models such as CLIP, LLaVA, GPT-4o, etc.
- Familiarity with 5G networks and joint communication and sensing is a plus
- Experience with simulation tools and methods to demonstrate technical concepts that are not yet standardized or available in hardware or software
- Familiar with C/C++, Matlab

Work Model for this Role
This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. However, you must live and work from the country specified in the job posting, in which Intel has a legal presence.
