  • Employment: Part-time or full-time (32-40 hours/week), initially limited to two years

About Us

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is an international aid organization founded in 1933 at the suggestion of Albert Einstein. Since then, IRC has been supporting people affected by political crises, war, persecution, or natural disasters. IRC Germany was founded in 2016 and is active nationwide in the fields of education, career & orientation, as well as protection, legal advice, and participation.

The programs are carried out nationwide by a team of approximately 110 people and implemented jointly with numerous partner organizations from government, business, and civil society. To continue and expand this work with the support of German foundations and companies, among others, we are looking for a Manager*in (d/w/m) Fundraising Deutsche Programme for our Berlin office as soon as possible.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will build and continuously maintain strategic and sustainable relationships with potential private donors, including through personal meetings, targeted outreach, and the organization and implementation of suitable event formats.
  • You will develop and track annual goals for increasing private funding for program work in Germany and, if applicable, in neighboring countries.
  • You will professionally prepare and follow up on relevant appointments and document all relevant activities in the designated systems.
  • You will work closely with internal program, finance, and project management teams to submit high-quality funding proposals, budgets, and reports.
  • You will maintain regular communication with local and international fundraising and support teams to ensure quality, transparency, and compliance.
  • As part of the management team of the German Programs, you will actively participate in the operational and strategic management of the entire program area and report directly to the Head of German Programs.
  • As part of the "Resource Acquisition & Management" team, you will work with colleagues in Europe and the USA on the holistic financing of the "Resettlement, Asylum & Integration" department at IRC.

Your Profile

  • You have at least five to seven years of relevant professional experience with increasing responsibility, particularly in fundraising, corporate partnerships, or corporate volunteering.
  • You are very familiar with the donor and fundraising landscape in Germany and can strategically use this knowledge for fundraising.
  • You have successfully developed and secured funding proposals multiple times and have strong skills in researching and analyzing potential private funding sources.
  • You possess excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills and are experienced in working pragmatically, collegially, and quickly with teams in different locations.
  • You have German and English language skills, both written and spoken, at a minimum of C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (https://www.europaeischer-referenzrahmen.de/).
  • You are proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ideally Salesforce.

What We Offer

  • A meaningful role with a lot of personal responsibility in a collaborative team.
  • Starting gross annual salary of €57,555 (for full-time, 40 hours/week) with annual salary adjustments.
  • Attractive employee benefits such as a gym membership, company pension plan, shopping vouchers, subsidy for childcare costs, company bike leasing, subsidy for the Deutschlandticket, and, if needed, access to timely and confidential psychological support.
  • 30 days of annual leave and a generous special leave policy.
  • Flexible working hours and home office options.
  • Training and development opportunities, access to free language courses.
  • If needed, assistance services for people with disabilities.

We look forward to receiving your application in English (with CV and – if available – three references/work certificates) via our online portal (https://theirc.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External_Careers/job/Berlin-Germany/Manager-in--d-w-m--Fundraising-Deutsche-Programme_JR00002050) – even if you do not meet all the requirements.
