Job Description

As an IT Application Manager (m/w/d) - Logistics Systems at Urban Group, you will become part of an unbeatable team. Your future workday will be characterized by respect, variety, and responsibility. Exciting challenges await you every day. Our logistics and warehousing processes depend significantly on stable IT systems such as Winsped, Websped, OCC, and Winlager. With the loss of central system knowledge, a business-critical gap in the support and further development of these applications arises. In this role, you will assume technical responsibility for these core systems, stabilize operational processes, and drive necessary changes in a structured manner. This directly ensures our operational capability in day-to-day business.

We offer:

Urban Group - we move the KION world. As a reliable logistics partner within the KION Group, we ensure that the components that drive intralogistics arrive exactly where they are needed - on time and reliably. For over 60 years, our 550 employees have been delivering seamless transport solutions, smart warehousing, and innovative battery return systems - across Europe and beyond.

What drives us? A clear vision: "With Passion and Performance in integrated logistics services, we enable Supply Chain Excellence for KION." Become part of our team - and move not just goods, but the future of logistics.

Your Benefits:

  • Attractive remuneration package, paid in 13 installments per year
  • Flexible working hours and a vacation entitlement of 30 days, plus the option to accrue additional time off
  • Broad range of personnel development measures for further training and development within the group
  • Possibility of mobile working from home, depending on the role
  • Our Basics: Bike leasing offer, access to LinkedIn Learning, company restaurant in neighboring group plants, company doctor service, parking spaces

Your Tasks

  • You will be responsible for 2nd and 3rd level support for our central logistics and warehouse systems, handling a high volume of tickets in a structured and solution-oriented manner. You will analyze complex error patterns, identify causes, and ensure sustainable solutions.
  • A central component of your work is analysis at the database level. You will work with SQL, examine data structures, identify inconsistencies, and make targeted adjustments as needed. You will use Python for automation, validation, or smaller tools.
  • Furthermore, you will evaluate and implement change requests from the business department, technically support system adjustments, and ensure stable integration into the existing system landscape. At the same time, you will assist in establishing clear support structures and securing system knowledge.

Your Profile

  • You have a vocational training or a degree in IT, business informatics, or a comparable field. More important than the qualification is your technical competence and analytical thinking skills.
  • Experience in application support or in managing complex enterprise applications is a prerequisite. You are proficient in SQL and can analyze database structures as well as read and adapt queries.
  • You have already used Python productively, for example, for automation or data analysis.
  • Ideally, you have an understanding of logistics or warehouse processes or are willing to quickly familiarize yourself with these topics. You work in a structured, self-reliant manner and communicate clearly with different departments.
