The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. operates worldwide with over 1,500 employees in the fields of political education, consulting, European and international cooperation, as well as research and gifted education.

The Digitalization and ICT Service Center, ICT Operations / Security Department, is seeking a Cloud Architect (m/f/d) for its Berlin location as soon as possible.

Who We Are:

  • The Digitalization and ICT department is responsible for the development and implementation of the digital strategy of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. worldwide in the action areas of operating in the digital space, digital competence, ICT infrastructure and equipment, and modern administration. We provide infrastructure for approximately 1,500 users at around 115 locations worldwide.
  • The ICT Operations / Security department, divided into the "Datacenter Operation," "Security," and "Networking" teams at the Berlin and Sankt Augustin locations, handles all 3rd-level requirements in close cooperation with the ICT Service department, focusing on innovation, security, centralization, standardization, and mobility.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Technical leadership of cloud sub-projects — from requirements analysis through design to implementation.
  • Responsible conception, configuration, and integration of cloud components in Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Azure (especially Azure Landing Zone), and other cloud services.
  • Continuous monitoring of the Microsoft roadmap (M365, Dynamics 365, Azure), derivation of necessary measures for architecture, governance, and operations, as well as responsible conception of implementation plans and systematic monitoring of their execution.
  • Conception and scientific development of statements, recommendations for action, and position papers on current issues and questions for management and other responsible parties regarding the status of measures and their implementation.
  • Architectural design of hybrid cloud solutions according to best practices and current security standards.
  • Technical consulting, support, and management of specialist departments and divisions regarding cloud potentials, technical implementation possibilities, and integration scenarios.
  • Close collaboration with internal specialist departments, project managers, development teams, and external service providers.
  • Responsible documentation, optimization, and further development of existing cloud architectures.
  • Continuous assurance of compliance, governance, and security requirements within the cloud environments.

In the role of "Cloud Architect," you will assume technical responsibility in ICT projects and ensure the stable, secure, scalable, and efficient implementation of our cloud architectures.

Your Qualifications:

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or comparable qualifications through several years of relevant professional experience.
  • Several years of experience and confident handling of the Microsoft Cloud (Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics 365).
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud architectures, hybrid infrastructures, identity management, interfaces, automation, AI, and IT security.
  • Confident use of modern configuration and deployment tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI, Infrastructure-as-Code).
  • Analytical, structured thinking, and a high degree of quality awareness.
  • Strong communication skills, team orientation, and sense of responsibility.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and internationally.
