KoRo: Revolutionizing the Food Market

KoRo is transforming the food market with transparency, bulk packaging, and efficient processes. To ensure our quality remains as exceptional as our products, we are seeking a specialist in Laboratory Analysis Management & Quality Operations for our Alzenau location.

KoRo's Mission

KoRo's mission is to offer consumers the best products for conscious nutrition by redefining food industry standards with a wide range of high-quality, innovative foods. Our selection spans from natural products like nut butters and dried fruits to clean label snacks and functional foods. Our continuous commitment to transparency and product innovation drives us to pioneer new paths in the food industry. KoRo aims to establish a pan-European omnichannel love brand and solidify its position in the natural foods and snacks sector.

Founded in Germany in 2014 and headquartered in Berlin, KoRo is led by CEO Florian Schwenkert, CFO Dr. Daniel Kundt, and COO Steffani Busch, employing over 300 people. More than 2.5 million customers shop across Europe online at www.koro.com and in brick-and-mortar retail.

Your Role: The 'Rock' of Quality Assurance On-Site

You will be our on-site 'rock,' working closely with your colleague from product quality to form our strong QA duo in the warehouse. While your counterpart handles physical goods and sensory checks, you will be the analytical mind steering our laboratory processes.

Mission 1: Laboratory Analysis & Food Safety (Primary)

You are the central point of contact for our entire laboratory network, responsible for coordination, optimization, and negotiation.

  • Lab Management & Coordination: Independently coordinate sample shipments to external labs and maintain our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Analysis & Evaluation: Evaluate lab results and assess food safety based on current EU regulations. Serve as our internal expert for DGHM guidelines and warning values.
  • Test Plan Excellence: Continuously develop our test plans and ensure representative sampling according to the sampling ordinance.
  • Commercial Acumen: Obtain quotes, analyze lab costs, and conduct price negotiations with major service providers (e.g., Tentamus, AgroLab, Eurofins, ifp).
  • Legal & Reporting: Monitor the European rapid alert system (RASFF), report directly to the QS Team Lead in Berlin, and actively support crisis management (recalls/returns).

Mission 2: Operational QA in the Warehouse (Secondary)

Your role extends beyond the desk to where the goods are, ensuring only flawless products leave our warehouse.

  • Goods Inspection & Sensory: Conduct random incoming goods inspections and organize sensory tastings of KoRo products.
  • Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analyses for deviations directly in the warehouse and coordinate product holds and releases for non-conforming items.
  • Data & Documentation: Evaluate supplier 4D reports, manage quality improvement tickets, and maintain our retention sample library.

Your Profile

Professional Requirements

  • Education: Successfully completed vocational training in a laboratory field or a degree in Food Economics, Food Science, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or a comparable qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the food industry, laboratory order processing, or warehousing.
  • Network: Extensive experience working with major laboratory service providers.
  • Know-How: Profound knowledge of food chemistry, analytics, and food law. A clear understanding of the legal definition of a 'representative sample.'
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.

Tech-Stack & Personality (The Extra Edge)

We seek an individual who embraces digital thinking in QA, moving beyond traditional methods.

  • Google Sheets Expertise: Proficient with complex formulas and pivot tables as essential tools.
  • AI & Innovation: Experience in automated analysis of large datasets (e.g., using AI tools like Google Gemini) and enthusiasm for expanding this at KoRo.
  • Digital Native: Quickly masters new tools like Notion.
  • Critical Thinker: Possesses a questioning mindset, takes initiative to streamline processes, making them scalable and unbureaucratic.
  • Work Style: Highly independent and structured in Alzenau, yet communicative enough to bridge the gap with the Berlin team.
