Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science or another IT-related field (e.g., Business Informatics or Administrative Informatics) OR
- Completed IT-related apprenticeship (e.g., Fachinformatiker for Application Development or System Integration) plus two years of professional IT experience OR
- At least four years of professional IT experience.
Depending on the fulfillment of personal requirements, the position will be classified into pay group 10 or 11 of the TV-L. The classification depends on your specific practical experience for the job. You also need German language skills at level B2.
Desirable:
- Professional experience in development using a BI solution (e.g., IBM/Cognos)
- Good knowledge in Data Warehousing
- Good knowledge of relational database technologies (e.g., Oracle) and the query language SQL
- Knowledge in PLSQL

About the company
The Central Police Directorate of Lower Saxony (ZPD NI) serves as a central service provider, laying a crucial foundation for the successful work of the Lower Saxony police. Your workplace will be within Department 42, specifically section 42.3 - Evaluation Systems. Here, the leading BI system for police forces in the states and federal government is operated, further developed, and maintained, based on a Data Warehouse (DWH). The tools used include IBM's BI suite "Cognos Analytics" and Informatica Powercenter for data management. This system supports, automizes, and provides nationwide services for police processes in Lower Saxony using state-of-the-art technology.

Tasks
In detail, you can expect the following activities:
- Analysis and Development: You will analyze, develop, test, and introduce new BI products, as well as extend and adapt existing BI products using the "IBM Cognos Analytics" BI software.
- Troubleshooting: You will resolve identified and reported errors as part of 3rd-level support.
- Project Work: You will actively participate in IT projects.
- Customer Support: You will support internal and external customers within the scope of 3rd-level support.
- Documentation: You will create and update documentation.
