About the Max Planck Institute for Physics

The Max Planck Institute for Physics conducts fundamental research in theoretical and experimental elementary particle and astroparticle physics, with approximately 330 employees from over 20 countries. Our administration, with its core and service areas, serves as a service provider for research projects and also for the semiconductor laboratory of the Max Planck Society at the Garching research campus.

Your Role

To strengthen our purchasing department, we are looking for a

Purchasing Administrator (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities

  • Processing of purchase requisitions from scientific departments and service groups using eProcurement (SAP SRM)
  • Invoice verification and preliminary invoice entry in SAP
  • Conducting compliant procurement of investment and consumer goods in accordance with federal and EU public procurement regulations and budgetary principles
  • If applicable, support in the preparation and execution of national and EU-wide tender procedures
  • Supporting our users (e.g., obtaining quotes) and responsible handling of cases of delivery and performance disruptions
  • Assistance with transport and customs matters (imports and exports)

Your Profile

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship, preferably with additional qualification as a purchasing specialist (m/f/d) or equivalent
  • Initial professional experience in a public sector environment and knowledge of procurement law (VgV, UVgO) are advantageous
  • Ideally, initial experience with SAP
  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
