The Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB) is seeking to fill a full-time, permanent position (40 hours/week) as an IT Operations Specialist (m/f/d) at the earliest possible date.

The position is based at our Brandenburg an der Havel campus, with the possibility of **mobile or hybrid work. In the digital daily operations of our university, teaching, research, and administration intersect - requiring a modern, secure, and reliable IT infrastructure. This is where you come in: with technical expertise, a strong sense of responsibility, and the opportunity to independently develop and actively shape our IT infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage and further develop the university-wide IT infrastructure (network, servers, on-premise & cloud) to support research, teaching, and administration
  • Proactively oversee monitoring, performance, and security measures to ensure a highly available, secure, and user-friendly IT environment
  • Take technical responsibility for data backup and recovery (backup monitoring, regular recovery tests, systematic documentation)
  • Actively contribute to university IT projects, including technical consulting, partial responsibility for project tasks, and implementation of modern and sustainable solutions
  • Provide support at the 1st and 2nd level as needed, guide the IT team, and collaborate constructively with faculties, research units, and administrative departments

Professional Qualifications:

  • Completed vocational training as an IT specialist (m/f/d) in system integration, or a degree in computer science, or comparable qualification
  • At least 5 years of professional experience; experience in a comparable position is desirable
  • Experience with enterprise networking technologies (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti)
  • Experience with virtualization, backup, and client management systems (e.g., VMWare, Veeam, Matrix42)
  • Solid knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment (including Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Defender, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune)
  • Open-mindedness towards Linux and open-source solutions
  • Interest in new technologies and IT projects

  • Experience with Linux-based systems and open-source technologies

Language Skills:
