Tasks
The automotive industry is undergoing an exciting transformation driven by digitalization. IT systems have become a crucial factor for productivity, and the potential of IT solutions is far from being exhausted.
We, the IT Center of Competence (CoC) Production Mercedes-Benz Powertrain, develop production-related IT solutions that are used worldwide. Our mission is to enable the Electric Only transformation of PG Drive Systems (formerly Mercedes-Benz Powertrain) with innovative IT solutions and to develop our existing, production-critical IT application structure for the future while operating it securely.
Our team is responsible for the critical production control systems with which we keep over 120 production lines worldwide running daily. We control the production of engines, axles, transmissions, batteries, and, in the future, electric powertrains, thus enabling many employees in the plants to make their contribution to every Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
In the coming years, we will actively shape the transition to e-mobility with a new generation of assembly control systems. In this context, a re-implementation of the central assembly control system is currently being carried out in an agile collaboration model (Scrum).
