The Niedersächsische Landesbehörde für Straßenbau und Verkehr is seeking a Head of Department for Road Management (m/f/d) for the Hameln regional office. This is a permanent position with the pay grade E 12 TV-L / A 12 NBesO, to commence as soon as possible.

Your Responsibilities:

• Representing the interests and coordinating road management matters externally, particularly as the central point of contact for the districts.
• Scheduling appointments with employees regarding workload and the scope of measures to be carried out.
• Personnel management and professional guidance of the department's employees.
• Reviewing and evaluating reports (KLR) for the department's cost center.
• Coordination with other departments and project groups on traffic and construction measures.
• Coordinating/implementing performance agreements for or affecting the department, as well as establishing uniform standards for the department.
• Evaluating assessment documents for district roads and developing necessary construction programs.

Your Qualifications:

Professional:

• Employees (m/f/d) must have at least a completed degree (Bachelor/Diplom-FH) in civil or traffic engineering, or industrial engineering with a specialization in civil engineering, construction technology, or an equivalent qualification from comparable fields of study.
• Civil servants (m/f/d) must possess the qualification for the 1st entry level of career group 2, specializing in technical services.

Personal:

• Many years of practical experience in the field of responsibility are required.
• Very good oral and written communication skills (comparable to at least language level C1 -- GER).
• Independence, initiative, and assertiveness.
• A high degree of communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Systematic and structured approach.
