Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and commercially driven Sales Executive / Key Account Manager who thrives in the intersection of Life Sciences, consulting, and complex enterprise sales. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the challenge of opening new doors, shaping strategic conversations, and building long-term partnerships with some of the most influential companies in the Life Sciences industry.
You will be responsible for driving growth across a portfolio of high-potential clients, with a particular focus on R&D (Regulatory, Clinical, Safety) and Quality domains, as well as supporting areas such as AI/data and Compliance. Your work will directly influence NNIT's strategic direction and contribute to our position as a trusted partner for Life Science innovation.
This is a role for a self-starter who is energized by autonomy, motivated by results, and comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers on complex business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Take full ownership of sales activities within your assigned accounts and territory, prioritizing opportunities that align with NNIT's strategic focus areas.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline through proactive lead generation, networking, and activation of your existing client relationships.
- Develop comprehensive account plans that reflect client needs, industry trends, and NNIT's capabilities, ensuring a structured and strategic approach to growth.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across NNIT's delivery units, ensuring seamless coordination and a unified client experience.
Client Engagement & Executive Influence
- Engage confidently with senior stakeholders --- including VP, SVP, CxO, Legal, and Procurement --- and position NNIT as a strategic partner capable of solving complex business and regulatory challenges.
- Navigate high-stakes negotiations with procurement and legal teams, balancing commercial value with long-term partnership considerations.
- Lead the end-to-end contracting process, including MSAs, CSAs, SoWs, and margin calculations, ensuring contracts are both competitive and profitable.
Business Growth & Impact
- Manage and grow 1--2 major enterprise clients while also developing new opportunities across your broader sales district.
- Own your sales budget (starting at approx. 50 MDKK or equivalent) and deliver against quarterly and annual targets.
- Contribute to NNIT's commercial strategy by sharing market insights, client feedback, and innovative ideas that strengthen our Life Science offerings.
- Act as a mentor and role model for peers, supporting the development of sales excellence across the team.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze complex client challenges and help refine NNIT's methods, concepts, and processes to better meet market needs.
- Participate in internal development initiatives that enhance our commercial capabilities and strengthen our position in the Life Sciences market.
Candidate Profile
Professional Background:
- 5--10 years of experience in B2B sales, ideally within Life Sciences, with a proven track record of winning new business and expanding existing accounts.
- Experience from consulting or a Life Science delivery organization is highly desirable, enabling you to speak the language of both business and technology.
- Demonstrated success in managing enterprise-level clients and navigating complex organizational landscapes.
- Strong experience with contract negotiations, procurement processes, and legal frameworks.
Skills & Personal Qualities
- A natural hunter mindset --- curious, proactive, and energized by creating new opportunities.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead strategic conversations.
- Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently from a home office, while remaining deeply connected to a virtual team.
- Structured, analytical, and commercially sharp, with the ability to balance short-term wins and long-term strategic value.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex solutions into compelling value propositions.
Location & Mobility:
- Ideally based in Southern Germany (not mandatory), with the ability to engage with local clients on-site as needed.
- Will also support selected clients in Switzerland, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, combining remote engagement with targeted in-person visits.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with virtual collaboration and occasional meetings at NNIT offices.
Education
- Master's degree or equivalent higher education.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Broad business understanding and the ability to apply expertise across multiple functions.
