About the Controlling Internship - Shareholder Controlling (m/f/d)

Our Shareholder Controlling team supports the Otto Group's top management in steering the company. Our dynamic controlling team, based at our headquarters, analyzes and evaluates the development of key global business activities. We provide the executive board with actionable recommendations on current strategic and operational issues, maintaining constant communication with subsidiaries and other teams within the Otto Group Holding.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Gain comprehensive insights into the management of a globally active retail and service group as a fully integrated team member.
  • Independently conduct various business analyses, such as responding to ad-hoc requests from the executive board or during the planning process.
  • Analyze and evaluate current operational and strategic issues for the supervisory boards of subsidiaries, providing valuable input directly to the executive board.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the executive board on national and international subsidiaries.
  • Independently manage assigned tasks, such as internal and external benchmarks.

Must-haves:

  • Currently enrolled as a student in at least your 3rd semester, pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Controlling and Finance, or a comparable field, or currently in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
  • Availability to support us from April for 5-6 months.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and a good understanding of numbers.
  • Ability to work independently and goal-oriented, with a curious and team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in MS Office and IT-savvy.
  • Openness to exploring and utilizing AI tools in your work.
  • Language proficiency: German C1 (expert language use) and English B1 (advanced language use).

Nice-to-haves:

  • Previous experience in Controlling, Finance, or Auditing.
