Vehicle Production Engineer (m/f/d)

For temporary employment of 24 months

Rocket Factory Augsburg AG in Augsburg is looking for a Vehicle Production Engineer (m/f/d).

The vehicle team is seeking a proactive and organized individual with a technical background in mechanical, production, or aerospace engineering to oversee vehicle production and lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will act as the critical link between the Vehicle and Production teams; driving process improvements, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the vehicle meets quality, cost, and delivery targets in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Your Tasks

  • Responsible for the release and management of vehicle production documentation including BOMs for the entire vehicle, and overseeing our vehicle through its life cycle on the manufacturing and assembly floor.
  • Work across the business with colleagues in Supply Chain, Quality, Production and Operations to ensure all aspects of the vehicle are built to specification and on time.
  • Develop new processes and toolsets to better connect our teams, reducing administrative overheads for Production whilst providing more insights into how our vehicles are built.
  • As the main interface between Vehicle and Production, deliver further reforms such as part industrialisation, increased quality controls and continuous improvement of work practice with a specific eye oriented at cost reduction.
  • Take responsibility for composites integration activities whilst working hand-in-hand with the Composites Development and Vehicle Design Engineers.

Your Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering, Aerospace, or related technical disciplines.
  • At least one year's experience in manufacturing environments in a technical role, additional time served in other aerospace or engineering industries is desirable (one year or more).
  • Self-independent, a structured way of working and committed to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Transferable knowledge of a production engineering environment including lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience in Composites Manufacturing Processes including prepreg, VRI, and sandwich structures.
  • Experience in creating work instructions for manufacturing, machining and assembly of composite parts.
  • Knowledge of tooling solutions and processes for composite manufacturing.
  • Fair knowledge of manufacturing processes, how to organize work activities and tasks for industry, and management of assemblies. Pre-existing knowledge of spaceflight and rockets is desirable.
  • Experience with CAD tools required, that with ERP or MES and business intelligence platforms desirable.
  • Experience with Siemens NX is desirable.
  • Fluent oral and written English skills (all day-to-day activities are performed in English).
