Saft's Industrial & Mobility Infrastructure division focuses on a variety of international B2B markets such as rail and mass transit, utilities and substations, industrial buildings, off-road vehicles, and data centers.
For our Nuremberg location, we are looking for a technically savvy professional (m/f/d) to support our sales team in dimensioning batteries (Ni-Cd and Li-Ion), defining solutions, and commercial follow-up.
You will act as a key interface between Sales, Engineering, and global factories, ensuring smooth coordination and accurate technical responses.
This position combines technical expertise with business acumen in a dynamic, international environment.
Technical Sales Engineer (m/f/d) -- Battery Systems / Energy Storage Solutions
Your Responsibilities:
- Technical and commercial support for the sales team in product selection, pricing, and quotation preparation, as well as in responding to customer inquiries.
- Design and configuration of battery solutions for Ni-Cd and Li-Ion products to ensure optimal configurations based on customer specifications and application requirements.
- Act as an interface between Sales and Manufacturing, coordinating with Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service to ensure smooth project execution.
- Actively participate in the Application Engineering team, aiming to deepen technical expertise and efficiently handle internal and external inquiries.
- Maintain and update customer data and interactions in the company's CRM system and other internal tools to ensure a current and reliable database for sales collaboration.
- Prepare and submit monthly activity reports summarizing support provided, project status, and key performance indicators.
- Contribute to business development by identifying new markets, potential customers, and new business opportunities through market analysis and collaboration with the sales team.
- Monitor project timelines and results, proactively identifying and resolving issues that may impact customer satisfaction or project success.
Desired Profile:
- Education in Engineering or a technical field, preferably with knowledge of electrical systems, batteries, or energy storage solutions.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in technical sales support, application engineering, or a similar role, ideally in an industrial or B2B environment.
- In-depth knowledge of battery technologies, particularly Ni-Cd and Li-Ion, or the willingness and ability to quickly learn through internal training and collaboration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with international teams.
- Confident presence in an international environment, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and partners from diverse countries and cultures.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and find suitable solutions for customer needs.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and standard business tools (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, product configurators), along with a strong sense of accuracy in analysis, data collection, and reporting.
- Proactive, organized, and business-oriented personality with an interest in identifying new markets and customer needs and contributing to business development initiatives.
- Excellent German language skills at a native level, as well as good written and spoken English skills.
