Job Description:

As a medium-sized company and reliable partner to industry, Schmitt Engineering delivers comprehensive technical expertise. Our activities span the process chain from planning and project management through development and design to manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning. The Frontend Applications (FA) team is responsible for implementing the VSPro frontend for person-assisted sales within a large, overarching IT system. FA ensures the correct and robust use of backend services in the internal frontend, including sales-specific processes. A focus is placed on stable integration into the existing backend landscape and close support of the migration of legacy systems. VSPro will gradually replace the previous legacy frontend; depending on the migration path, this will also require adjustments in the legacy system.

• Act as a liaison between the business department and IT, including conducting interviews with stakeholders for requirements gathering and evaluation.
• Analysis and formulation of requirements, both functional and non-functional, including frontend/UX aspects for person-assisted sales, interfaces, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Specification, coordination, and quality assurance of the interface between frontend applications and legacy systems, including data models, mapping, error handling, and fallback scenarios.
• Creation of user stories as a template for the development of applications and automated tests.
• Backlog refinement and acting as a content contact person for Product Owners and the implementation team.
• Documentation of business and technical solution concepts to ensure traceability and knowledge transfer.
• Consideration of the technical architecture regarding feasibility, operational stability, and performance in the sales context.

Your Profile:

• Completed studies in Business Informatics, Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience in the analysis, formulation, and documentation of business and technical requirements, ideally in the context of complex IT systems.
• Experience in collaborating with business departments, Product Owners, and development teams, preferably in agile projects (Scrum/Kanban).
• Understanding of frontend architectures and sales-specific processes is an advantage.
• Knowledge of interface management, data modeling, mapping, and error handling.
• Ideally, experience in migrating legacy systems and their gradual replacement.
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.

Note: Please be aware that German is the working language in our project and good German language skills (level B2) are a prerequisite for the position.
