About the City of Emsdetten

More than 500 employees are already part of the City of Emsdetten team, working daily for the approximately 37,200 residents of Emsdetten, representing 100 nationalities. We actively address global, regional, and local challenges.

Our team in the district social services of the youth welfare office is dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and families in Emsdetten. We handle tasks in the areas of aid for upbringing, integration assistance according to §35a SGB VIII, the foster care service, and child protection – responsibly, with expertise, and in a collegial environment.

Social Worker / Social Pedagogue (w/m/d) in District Social Services (Full-time / Part-time)

Your diverse tasks include:

  • Consultation and support for children, adolescents, and families
  • Conducting socio-pedagogical diagnostics
  • Reviewing, initiating, and managing aid for upbringing
  • Cooperating with various institutions in youth welfare, medical fields, and the legal and regulatory system
  • Protecting children and adolescents, including emergency placements and participation in family court proceedings

We are looking for a responsible and dedicated individual who:

  • Has successfully completed a degree in Social Work / Social Pedagogy
  • Possesses basic legal and administrative knowledge and good IT skills
  • Has a confident yet friendly demeanor, communicates with appreciation, demonstrates organizational skills, and works independently and in a structured manner
  • Works independently, responsibly, and reliably, even under high time pressure and in difficult situations
  • Is mobile and can navigate non-barrier-free environments, considering the spatial situations of the families they will be supporting
