About the Role

The Public Space Nuremberg Service (SÖR) is responsible for the construction, expansion, and maintenance of urban infrastructure – from paths, roads, and bridges to street lighting, traffic control systems, green spaces, and bodies of water. SÖR offers numerous attractive fields of activity for employees in technical professions to help shape public spaces.

Responsibilities
- Project management for inner-city infrastructure measures, especially complex large-scale cycling path projects, for increased road safety, environmental and climate protection, and a sustainable improvement of the quality of life in Nuremberg.
- Planning and coordination of measures in close cooperation with internal departments, external stakeholders, and project partners.
- Obtaining municipal measure permits and applying for funding from public funding bodies.
- Preparation of tender documents.
- Construction preparation, construction process control, and billing.
- Creation and supervision of engineering contracts, involving external specialist planners and appraisers.
- Project support for investor projects.
Profile
For this position, you will need:
- A completed degree (Diplom FH or Bachelor) in Civil Engineering or the qualification for the 3rd career level in the career path of Natural Sciences and Technology, Construction Technical and Environmental Administration with relevant experience, OR
- A completed degree (Diplom FH or Bachelor) in a comparable relevant course of study (e.g., Landscape Management, Environmental Technology, Industrial Engineering with a focus on Construction, Construction Management, or Construction Project Management, etc.) with several years of relevant professional experience.
- Full health suitability for the tasks.
Additionally, you possess:
- Good technical knowledge, especially of the regulations relevant to road construction.
- Organizational and negotiation skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Intercultural social competence.
- Willingness to attend events outside of regular working hours.
- A valid driver's license, Class B.
