Job Description

We are looking for a Back-End Developer (M/F/D) to join our Berlin or Sarajevo office or remotely in the EU on a contractual basis. As a team member, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for our platform. You'll play a critical role in shaping our backend infrastructure and ensuring seamless integration with frontend and third-party services. You will work with our small tech team based in Hamburg, Berlin, Luxembourg & Sarajevo offices, as well as with other members of the company.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and implementation of our microservice architecture, ensuring best practices in scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and conduct peer code reviews.
• Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and improve system reliability.
• Enhance development workflows, including continuous integration, deployment pipelines, and automated testing.

Skills And Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of software development experience, with a strong knowledge of JavaScript.
• Proficiency with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• High interest in blockchain technology is a plus.
• High interest in the financial industry is a plus.
• Team spirit, strong communication skills to collaborate with various team members from different nationalities.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
