About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Developer to join our 7-person development team based in Passau. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on our core platform, which connects private investors with seasoned financial experts through a scalable and high-performance B2B2C solution. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our backend services using Java and Spring Boot. Your work will directly influence the functionality, reliability, and scalability of our platform, ensuring a seamless experience for users. The position requires a collaborative mindset, a passion for modern software architecture, and the desire to actively shape our technical landscape. The hybrid work model combines the flexibility of home office with regular in-office collaboration, fostering a vibrant team culture while maintaining effective communication and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Proximity to Passau with the ability to work on-site two days per week.
  • Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Experience working with SQL relational databases.
  • Proficiency with Git, development tools, and version control systems.
  • Solid understanding of Linux, Docker, and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS or similar platforms.
  • Motivation to take responsibility and drive projects forward.
  • Enthusiasm for modern software architecture, new technologies, and continuous learning.
  • Nice to have: experience with trading platforms, brokers, or financial services; familiarity with DevOps, automation, or infrastructure; frontend development skills (React/Vue/UI).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance backend services using Java and Spring Boot to support our fintech platform.
  • Design and implement high-performance, scalable APIs and interfaces to ensure robust integration with frontend systems and third-party services.
  • Work with relational SQL databases to optimize data storage, retrieval, and management.
  • Participate actively in the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and deployment.
  • Maintain code quality through rigorous error analysis, code reviews, and automated testing procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Contribute to the architectural design and strategic planning of our platform, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve our development processes and platform capabilities.
