Prompt coding engineer | AI-native SaaS | Remote (Germany-based preferred)
We're partnering with a fast-moving startup building an AI-first SaaS platform for Germany's construction and engineering industry. The founders have serious operational pedigree and a clear vision. This is their first engineering hire.
The role
You'll own the build of a complex, AI-powered product suite from the early stages, shipping production-ready features from day one. The stack is Laravel/PHP, but the job isn't really about the language. It's about thinking in prompts, owning outcomes, and moving fast.
This isn't a role where you get a two-month onboarding plan. You'll be in the code on day one, shipping ideas by day two.
What you'll be doing
- Building and shipping features using AI tooling (Cursor, Claude, GPT and similar) as your primary development method
- Owning requirements end-to-end without detailed specs
- Improving internal AI workflows and prompting strategies as the product grows
- Shaping engineering culture as one of the earliest hires
What they're looking for
- Genuinely AI-native: you think in prompts, not code, and you use AI tooling to multiply your output
- Highly autonomous. You take a vague outcome and ship something clean within days, not weeks
- Fluent in German (C1 or native) - the platform and customer base are entirely German-speaking, and domain terminology matters
- Startup background strongly preferred. If your benchmark for speed is a large corporate, this isn't the right fit
- PHP + Laravel experience useful; more important is how fast you learn and how well you ship
- Background in construction or engineering a plus, not a requirement
What's on offer
- €90,000 to €120,000 base depending on experience
- Equity on offer
- Remote-first with casual in-person meetups in Berlin
- Germany-based strongly preferred; Berlin ideal
