Business Controller (m/f/d) at Allianz SE

About the Team and Role

You will be joining the GSMD team at Allianz SE in Munich. Your role will focus on the comprehensive analysis of a wide range of Market Management KPIs, including customer metrics, policy data, growth stats, distribution figures, and brand performance. By taking a holistic view, you will enhance the quality and effectiveness of these KPIs, ensuring their optimal use across the organization.

Working closely with colleagues from various departments at headquarters, business divisions, and OEs, your task is to address the growing importance of KPIs such as customer metrics, policy data, and acquisition costs, ensuring they are strategically managed and optimized for greater impact across the organization.

Your Impact

You Will:

• Drive Allianz Group's target assessment of policies and customers
• Control and shape and steer key KPIs in the overall Group Center (Growth, Distribution, Digital...)
• Understand each OE's sales and marketing performance to better steer toward more value accretive growth
• Lead data-driven analytics on growth KPIs and be the counterpart for GSMD Leadership on KPIs

Your Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

• Excellent university degree with distinction in business, corporate finance or economics with a spike in quantitative analytics, accounting, or Finance
• 7+ years of experience in management consulting, Corporate Accounting, Controlling, or a combination thereof, with significant exposure to financial services
• Experience in the financial services industry
• Previous involvement in designing and running strategy processes in a complex, multinational organization including portfolio assessments and capital allocation recommendations
• Expert skills in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, VBA and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strategic mindset combined with very strong quantitative skills, partial/full CFA is an advantage
• Very strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to convey complex matters and develop compelling narratives
• Ability to work independently and perform under time pressure with a demonstrated drive for excellence
• Open mindset and team player with the ability to drive projects/programs in cross-functional, international teams
• Efficient and results/impact-oriented working style, and a positive, pragmatic attitude
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), a second language is a plus
• Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
• Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions
