Your Role
As a Compliance/Data Protection Officer and Senior Legal Counsel, you will advise ADH management and team members on all legal, privacy, and compliance matters. You will also serve as the liaison between ADH and Allianz Group functions for these areas. This involves translating Allianz Group requirements for ADH, a non-insurance, non-regulated entity, and building a trusted network with your peers in the Group. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of topics, with a primary focus on:
Legal Advice
- Contract development, negotiation, and management (especially IT-related contracts with ADH customers and suppliers)
- Third-party risk management
- Legal change management
- Corporate housekeeping
Data Protection and Compliance Organization
- Maintaining a sound data protection and compliance framework
- Conducting staff training
- Performing risk assessments (e.g., privacy impact assessments, non-financial risk management)
Key Responsibilities
While not exhaustive, the following provides an overview of your key activities:
Data Privacy
- Maintain the ADH data privacy organization, ensuring compliance with GDPR and related Allianz corporate rules.
- Manage ADH's records of processing activities, supporting impact assessments (privacy, data protection, transfer, ethical) as needed.
- Provide privacy advice on ADH's software products where personal data is processed, collaborating closely with product owners and the information security function.
- Foster a data privacy culture through tailored training for ADH staff.
Compliance
- Maintain ADH's compliance management system.
- Assess the applicability and implement relevant Allianz compliance programs.
- Manage non-financial risks, including oversight of ADH functions, documentation, and control testing.
- Manage regulatory/legal changes by assessing their impact on ADH and supporting implementation.
- Raise awareness of applicable compliance programs through ADH-tailored training.
Legal
- Manage contracts, including maintaining ADH standard contract templates and negotiating IT and non-IT contracts (e.g., SaaS, service, consulting agreements).
- Provide legal advice to ADH management and other functions, supporting cross-functional topics like new supplier assessments.
- Maintain applicable Allianz corporate rules, making proportionate adjustments for ADH and overseeing implementation.
- Support corporate legal housekeeping.
Qualifications
- Successfully completed law degree (2nd German state exams, LL.M., Doctor of Laws, or European equivalent). A privacy certificate (e.g., CIPP/E) is a plus.
- Minimum of three years of work experience in contract and IT law, with experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel focusing on privacy, IT law, and regulatory matters.
- Fluency in English, including legal terminology.
- Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating (IT) contracts, including SaaS data processing, joint controller, and controller-to-controller agreements. Ability to draft data privacy and compliance policies and standards, and design harmonized privacy and compliance processes.
- Enthusiasm for working autonomously on a broad range of legal, regulatory, and privacy topics.
- Experience as a data protection and/or compliance officer. Knowledge in legal aspects of information security (e.g., EU DORA, NIS-2) and digitalization regulation (including AI), and (non-financial) risk management is advantageous.
- Target-oriented and diligent, with an appreciation for teamwork and a high level of personal accountability.
