Senior Business Controller (m/f/d) at Allianz SE
About the Team
You will be joining GSMD, directly reporting to Bernd Heinemann, and will head a newly formed, cross-functional team based in Munich. This team is dedicated to the comprehensive analysis of all Market Management KPIs, including customer numbers, policy data, growth data (assets), distribution data, and brand performance. By adopting a holistic approach, the team aims to enable more informed and strategic steering of OEs, thereby enhancing the quality and effectiveness of these KPIs.
Working closely with colleagues from various departments at the head office, business divisions, OEs, as well as maintaining close contact with BDs and the Board of Management Offices, the team will address the heightened importance of KPIs such as customer metrics, policy data, and acquisition costs. This collaboration underscores the need to formalize these KPIs within a dedicated team, ensuring they are strategically managed and optimized for greater impact across the organization.
Your Impact
You Will
- Oversee and guide Allianz Group's target assessment concerning policies and customer metrics
- Strategically control, shape, and steer key KPIs within the overall Group Center, focusing on areas such as growth, distribution, and digital initiatives
- Analyze and comprehend the sales and marketing performance of each OE to facilitate steering towards more value-accretive growth
- Lead data-driven analytics on growth KPIs and serve as the primary counterpart for GSMD Leadership regarding KPI-related matters
Your Profile
Education & Experience
- Excellent university degree with distinction in business, corporate finance or economics with spike in quantitative analytics, accounting, or Finance
- 7 years of experience in management consulting, Corporate Accounting, Controlling, or a combination thereof, with significant exposure to financial services
- Experience in financial services industry
- Previous involvement in designing and running strategy processes in a complex, multinational organization including portfolio assessments and capital allocation recommendations
- Expert skills in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, VBA and PowerPoint
Professional Competences
- Strategic mindset combined with very strong quantitative skills, partial/full CFA is an advantage
- Very strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to bring across complex matters and develop compelling narratives
- Ability to work independently and perform under time pressure with demonstrated drive for excellence
- Open mindset and team player with the ability to drive projects/programs in cross-functional, international teams
- Efficient and results/impact-oriented working style, and positive, pragmatic attitude
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), second language a plus
- Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
- Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
