- Junior Data Quality Analyst
Alpine Business Consulting is a specialized team of experts that fixes enterprise performance management and reporting systems. We often step in when a company has spent heavily on complex tools but still struggles with mismatched numbers and slow month-end closes. Currently, we are supporting a leading German industrial manufacturer in a large-scale project to stabilize their financial reporting. This Junior Data Quality Analyst role is a entry-level, full-time position that helps us ensure every dollar and unit of inventory is accounted for correctly within the client's systems.
In this role, you will work directly with our senior consultants to audit and clean datasets. This is a fully remote position that requires a high level of concentration and a logical approach to problem-solving. We do not believe in using client projects as a training ground for unguided staff, so you will receive direct mentorship while contributing to real-world solutions that provide a single source of truth for the manufacturer.
About the role
As a Junior Data Quality Analyst, your primary focus is the integrity of the information feeding into the client's planning and analytics tools. Large industrial companies often have data spread across multiple legacy systems, leading to inconsistencies. You will help us identify where these discrepancies exist and assist in the configuration of new, cleaner data pipelines. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with numbers and wants to see how a major industrial operation manages its global finances. This position is fully remote and offers pay that is highly competitive for the entry-level market.
What you will do
- Review financial and operational datasets to identify duplicates, missing values, or formatting errors.
- Compare data across different systems to find where the reporting logic has broken down.
- Assist senior consultants in mapping data from legacy sources into modern EPM tools.
- Perform routine validation checks to ensure that fixes remain stable over time.
- Draft clear documentation that explains how data is moving through the system.
- Help create simple training guides so that the manufacturer's own team can maintain clean data.
- Support the testing phase of new configurations to catch errors before they reach the finance team.
- Participate in internal team meetings to report on data trends and recurring issues.
What we need from you
- A completed degree in finance, business, data science, or a related field (or equivalent internship experience).
- Strong basic skills in Excel, including the ability to use lookups and pivot tables to compare lists.
- A genuine interest in how data flows through large organizations.
- Very high attention to detail: you are the person who notices when a single row in a thousand is incorrect.
- Clear and concise writing skills for technical documentation and instructions.
- The ability to manage your own schedule and stay productive in a 100 percent remote environment.
- A logical mindset that prefers finding a permanent fix over a temporary workaround.
- Familiarity with or a willingness to learn about SQL or data visualization tools.
What the role offers
- Paid, permanent employment with a clear path for professional growth.
- A fully remote work arrangement that respects your time and environment.
- Direct mentorship from senior consultants who have decades of real-world experience.
- Exposure to the complex financial operations of a major German industrial manufacturer.
- A work culture that values documentation and reliable systems over corporate fluff.
- The opportunity to build a solid foundation in enterprise performance management and data analytics.
- A straightforward environment where we provide fixed-price solutions and prioritize results.
How we work
At Alpine Business Consulting, we pride ourselves on being predictable and transparent. We do not use buzzwords to hide a lack of progress. Instead, we focus on providing configuration that actually works and documentation that the client can understand. Every member of our team, including those in entry-level roles, is expected to communicate clearly and take ownership of their tasks. Because we are a remote company, we rely on written clarity and organized workflows to keep our projects on track. We prioritize a handover process that leaves the client independent and confident in their new system.
