Stellenbeschreibung

Alpine Business Consulting works with organizations that have outgrown their reporting systems or are suffering through botched software implementations. We are a specialized team that steps in when enterprise tools lose their way, common occurrences in mid to large scale finance and operations departments. We are currently supporting a major European logistics firm with a project to overhaul their performance management tools and reporting structure. Because we steer clear of the typical corporate fluff associated with large consulting firms, our team focuses on delivery and clean configuration. As a Project Management Intern, you will work directly with our senior consultants to ensure this engagement stays organized and predictable for the client.

This is a full time internship and a fully remote position. It offers a chance to see how enterprise level systems are built and managed behind the scenes without the need for an office presence. We value transparency and documentation, and we expect everyone on our team to contribute to that culture of clarity.

About the role

In this role, you will be the glue that keeps the project moving forward. You will assist senior consultants who are busy fixing complex system configurations for our client in the logistics sector. Your primary focus will be supporting the administrative and organizational side of the project, ensuring that every meeting has clear outcomes and every technical decision is documented. This is not about busy work: it is about maintaining a single source of truth for a project with many moving parts, from fleet management tracking to international financial reporting.

This position is paid and the pay is competitive for the role and current market. You will be integrated into our remote workflow immediately, using digital tools to communicate and track progress across different streams of the implementation.

What you will be doing

  • Coordinate meetings between our consultants and the finance team at the European logistics firm, ensuring all parties are prepared with the right data.
  • Take detailed notes during technical workshops and business requirement gatherings, translating complex discussions into clear action items.
  • Maintain the project schedule and alert senior consultants if timelines for specific configuration tasks are at risk.
  • Help organize and review documentation, including user manuals and configuration guides, to ensure they are helpful and easy for the client to understand.
  • Assist in tracking project expenses and resource hours to ensure we stay within the fixed price quotes provided to the client.
  • Update internal trackers and reporting dashboards so that the project status is always transparent to both the client and our internal leadership.
  • Work with consultants to gather data for system testing, helping to ensure that the final implementation leads to clean data and faster month end closes.

What we are looking for

We need someone who is organized and enjoys putting things in order. You do not need to be an Oracle or SAP expert yet, but you should have a basic understanding of how professional projects are structured. We value people who listen well and can turn a one hour conversation into a half page of concise, accurate notes. If you are a student or a recent graduate in business, management, or a related field, this is an excellent way to gain real world experience in a specialized niche of consulting.

  • Strong written communication skills with a focus on being direct and honest.
  • A fundamental understanding of common productivity software like spreadsheets and word processors.
  • Ability to manage your own time effectively in a fully remote environment.
  • A healthy curiosity about how large companies track their performance and manage their data.
  • Attention to detail when it comes to formatting documents and tracking dates.
  • Willingness to ask questions when a technical term or project requirement is unclear.
  • Comfort working with a small, senior led team where everyone is expected to be useful.

Working at Alpine Business Consulting

We are a team that values predictable results over flashy presentations. Many firms promise the world and deliver a system that leads to headaches for the finance team. We do the opposite. We find the errors, fix the configuration, and leave the client with a system that works reliably. This philosophy extends to how we treat our employees and interns. We expect honesty and a focus on getting the job done without unnecessary drama. You will be supported by senior staff who have seen every implementation mistake in the book and are eager to show you the right way to manage a project from start to handover.
