Senior Data Engineer (f/m/d) - 40h - Augsburg - GreenTech Startup

Join our dynamic startup team as an experienced Data Engineer. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL pipelines and our data warehouse, ensuring high data quality. Collaborate closely with software engineers and data scientists to deliver accurate and complete building data for our customers. Responsibilities

• ETL Processes: You design, implement, and maintain ETL processes in a cloud environment.
• Data Pipelines: You build scalable and efficient data ingestion and transformation pipelines for large-scale geospatial data.
• Cloud Architecture: You develop and maintain cloud architecture as part of the Data Engineering Team.
• Data Warehouse: You develop and maintain the data warehouse for building and geospatial data.
• Data Integrity: You ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across various platforms and systems.
• Data Documentation: You model data, map data, and document data lineage.
• Data Insights: You generate data insights and reports.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: You collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and ensure the data meets their needs.

Your Skills

• Professional Experience and Educational Background: You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field. You have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a start-up environment, demonstrating that you can adapt well to and thrive in dynamic environments.
• Communication Skills: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (and ideally German), to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Advanced Database Knowledge: You acquired advanced SQL/RDBMS programming skills (Postgres/Oracle/MS) and Python and PySpark skills for data processing and analysis.
• Scalable ETL Pipeline: You gained experience in designing, implementing and maintaining scalable and efficient ETL pipelines. Deployment of ML models is a plus.
• Cloud Experience: You have relevant experience with cloud platforms, with Azure (Synapse/Functions) being a strong plus.
• Programming Skills: You have programming experience (e.g., Python, OOPL) and an interest in learning PySpark.
• Geospatial Data: You have experience with geospatial data (PostGIS, QGIS, Apache Sedona etc.) as a strong plus.
• Startup Mindset: You show eagerness to learn, can work independently and in a team, and are willing to go the extra mile.
