About Us

At AXO Track GmbH, we digitize existing railway infrastructure to make it safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. Using IoT-based predictive maintenance technologies, we develop solutions that monitor track systems in real time -- enabling smarter rail operations and contributing to climate protection. We're a growing DeepTech company with a clear mission: to modernize rail transport through innovation. Join our international team and help shape the future of rail mobility!

Your Mission

You combine mechanical engineering, electronics integration, and real-world operating conditions in a role with high responsibility.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design housings, brackets, and mechanical interfaces for sensor systems used in railway environments
  • Develop robust designs for demanding conditions such as vibration, temperature changes, humidity, and dirt exposure
  • Work with Onshape in a modern, collaborative cloud-based CAD environment
  • Design and validate solutions in accordance with relevant railway standards, especially EN 50155 and related norms
  • Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials
  • Collaborate closely with electronics and software engineering teams for system integration
  • Rapidly iterate prototypes and validate designs in real-world deployments
  • Optimize products for sealing, durability, assembly, and serial production
  • Contribute actively to engineering and design standards within the start-up

Your Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable qualification (e.g. certified technician)
  • 2--5 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in device engineering, mechatronics, or sensor systems
  • Experience with Onshape or comparable 3D CAD systems
  • Understanding of robust industrial design principles (e.g. IP protection, vibration and thermal loads)
  • Ideally familiar with railway standards such as EN 50155 or comparable industry standards
  • Experience with common manufacturing processes (CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics)
  • Hands-on mindset, quick learner, and enthusiasm for prototyping
  • Structured, independent working style and strong team spirit
  • Fluent German and good English skills

Why Join Us?

  • Impact: Your work directly contributes to safer and smarter railway operations
  • Ownership: High level of responsibility and freedom to shape solutions
  • Deep Tech Environment: Combination of mechanics, sensor technology, and data systems
  • Modern Development: Cloud CAD with Onshape and fast iteration cycles
  • Flexibility: Hybrid work setup and flexible working hours
  • Growth: Professional and personal development in a growing company
  • Team Culture: Pragmatism, speed, and clear communication instead of bureaucracy

What We Offer

  • Permanent full-time contract
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Flexible working hours and self-directed projects
  • An agile, cross-functional, international team with flat hierarchies
  • Purpose-driven work in a company that values sustainability and innovation
  • Plenty of room for your ideas and initiative
