Network Consultant (m/w/d)

Focus: Enterprise Networks | SonicWall | HPE | Aruba

Locations: Metzingen & Stuttgart

Your Role

As a Network Consultant (m/w/d), you will guide our clients in the planning, implementation, and further development of modern enterprise network and security infrastructures. You will combine deep technical expertise with consulting skills and manage projects from analysis through to successful handover to operations.

Your Tasks

  • Advise clients on the conception and further development of enterprise networks
  • Design scalable network and security architectures
  • Implement, migrate, and optimize LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments
  • Configure switching, routing, and firewall infrastructures
  • Conduct workshops, assessments, and technical reviews
  • Undertake troubleshooting of complex network and security topics at a 3rd level
  • Analyze existing networks regarding performance, stability, and security
  • Create technical concepts, documentation, and operational handovers
  • Support pre-sales with solution designs, technical evaluations, and effort estimations
  • Collaborate closely with project management, security, and cloud teams

What You Bring

  • Several years of professional experience as a Network Engineer or Network Consultant in an enterprise environment
  • Very good knowledge of:
    • TCP/IP, VLAN, Subnetting, NAT
    • Routing protocols like OSPF
    • Switching technologies like STP, Trunking, and LACP
  • Experience in the design and operation of large, distributed network infrastructures (multi-site, campus, data center)
  • Routine in creating technical concepts and client documentation
  • Structured, independent work style
  • Customer-oriented demeanor and clear, professional communication

Technical Focus Areas

SonicWall

  • Firewall design, policies, NAT, and VPN (IPSec / SSL)
  • Security functions like IDS/IPS and content filtering
  • High-availability setups

HPE / Aruba

  • Switching landscapes (Core, Distribution, Access)
  • CLI configuration and network segmentation
  • WLAN environments

Nice to Have

  • Vendor certifications (e.g., SonicWall, Aruba, HPE)
  • Experience with network monitoring (SNMP, NetFlow, Logging)
  • Basic knowledge of automation or scripting (CLI, APIs)
  • Knowledge of cloud networks (e.g., Azure)
  • Experience with network diagrams and structured documentation

Languages

  • German: Fluent (client communication)
  • English: Good technical knowledge
