About the Company:

STARTUP WITH 25 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

We develop a web-based ERP platform for foundations, associations, and NGOs -- 100% self-financed and crisis-proof. We are currently at an exciting turning point: We are completely redeveloping our platform technologically. This means for you: a real new beginning on an extremely solid foundation, with real social benefit.

The Role: Architecture, AI & Leadership

As the first technical point of contact, you will take on technical leadership, shape the architecture, and ensure that the platform is of the highest quality to keep pace with growth. You will report directly to the management -- and have real influence without corporate bureaucracy.

Requirements

Must have:

  • Several years of software development, including at least 1-2 years in a leadership role (Tech Lead, Lead Developer) with architectural responsibility.
  • Proven architectural know-how, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD); ability to make sound judgments about what belongs on the platform and what does not.
  • Experience in developing web-based application software -- ideally with a commercial or business administration domain (e.g., ERP, CRM, accounting).
  • Experience in object-oriented programming languages, ideally .NET/C#, experience with Angular & React, as well as MS SQL Server & PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated tests, and AI tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor); ability to assess their benefits and limitations.
  • Leadership experience; technical mentoring and the ability to align a team technically towards common goals.
  • SME mentality and hands-on approach: willingness to solve bugs together with developers, talk directly to customers, and communicate regularly with management.
  • Pragmatism & strong opinions: Make decisions, argue them with management, and constructively implement them.
  • Fluent German (C1) and good English (B2).

Responsibilities

  • Architectural responsibility: Design of the software architecture (DDD, Clean Architecture), responsibility for the scalability, quality, and security of the ERP platform.
  • Technology strategy: Evaluation of new tools and technologies, driving CI/CD and automated tests, development of the technical roadmap.
  • AI & Innovation: Use of AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor), identification of automation potential, and integration of future topics such as RAG into the platform.
  • Quality assurance: Establishment of code reviews, testing standards, and processes that keep pace with platform growth.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Technical leadership of a small team of experienced developers; no micromanagement, but technological alignment and persuasion for DDD and CI/CD.
  • Process optimization: Structuring collaboration (Scrum / Kanban) and ensuring clear workflows.
  • Interface management: Management of external partners and bridging the gap between development, product management, and management.
  • Strategic sparring partner: Translation of technical realities into strategic decisions and direct collaboration with management.

The Offer: Meaning, Growth, and Freedom to Shape

  • No corporation with rigid structures -- a team that wants to achieve something together. Ideas are heard, influence is real.
  • Salary: Annual salary between €85,000 and €95,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Perspective & Growth: Technical leadership from day 1. Prospectively: technical management. In 1-2 years: team growth of 2-3 people -- the selection is partly in your hands.
  • Opportunities for Shaping: As the first technical point of contact, you decide how things proceed and actively shape them.
  • Flexibility: Work up to 3-4 days a week remotely. As of now, Monday is always our joint office day in Unterschleißheim. Core working hours are generally 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
  • Meaning: Your work has a direct, positive impact on organizations that do good.
  • Other Benefits: Budget for further training, subsidy for the Deutschlandticket, and very good work-life balance.

Application Process: Transparent. Structured. Appreciative.

No endless waiting, no vague feedback. Lena Wolf will guide you through every step and keep you proactively informed.

How to Apply

Send us your CV and briefly answer these two questions (10-15 minutes, bullet points are sufficient) -- no cover letter needed.

  1. On which project did you significantly contribute architecturally? What was your contribution -- and what are you particularly proud of?
  2. Why is Domain-Driven Design a good idea -- and where does it have limitations?

We value diversity and welcome applications regardless of gender, nationality, origin, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, and identity.

The Process:

  • Initial Interview: Structured conversation with Lena Wolf (approx. 45 min) -- you will get an honest picture of the position.
  • Online Assessment (abcI): A short, scientifically sound look at potential -- fair, comparable, online.
  • Interviews with base4IT: Get to know the management + technical exchange at eye level.
