Executive in Residence (Honorary Appointment)

Position Overview

Berlin College of Business and Technology (BCBT), affiliated with Marconi University for degree-awarding purposes, invites applications for the honorary position of Executive in Residence (EiR). This part-time role is intended for senior professionals with significant leadership experience in business, entrepreneurship, or public service who are eager to contribute to a practice-oriented academic environment. The EiR will serve as a mentor, guest lecturer, and strategic advisor to students, faculty, and institutional leadership. This is a non-remunerated role, focused on knowledge exchange, impact, and collaborative engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver occasional guest lectures or seminars in your area of expertise
• Mentor students, including those involved in startups or applied projects
• Advise faculty on curriculum relevance and strategic development
• Support institutional partnerships and stakeholder engagement
• Serve as a point of contact between BCBT and your professional network

Profile

• Proven track record of leadership (e.g. CEO, founder, senior executive, public official)
• Demonstrated interest in education, mentoring, and innovation
• Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with students and faculty
• Availability for periodic involvement either on campus or virtually

Terms of Appointment

• Honorary based
• Fixed term: 3 to 12 months, with possibility of renewal
• Includes membership in the Industrial Advisory Board of Berlin College
• Granted membership in BCBT's Preferred Club of Ventures, with access to early-stage student and alumni projects
• Certificate of appointment and formal institutional affiliation provided
