Junior Technical Superintendent (m/f/d)
As a Junior Technical Superintendent at BSM, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end technical and operational oversight of assigned vessels, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-efficient ship management. The role plays a critical part in connecting ship and shore by acting as the primary technical point of contact for vessels, clients, and external stakeholders, while supporting BSM's strategic objectives, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of fleet performance.
This is an entry‑level / junior role, designed to provide hands‑on exposure, mentoring, and structured learning across the technical operation of a fleet, under the guidance of experienced Technical Superintendents. This role is ideal for candidates who want to develop into a full Technical Superintendent role over time.
Key Responsibilities

You learn to monitor and control the safe and cost-efficient technical operation of all assigned vessels using the available resources, within the defined parameters of cost, commercial viability and operational excellence in line with Owners expectations.

You help to ensure the effective maintenance of the assigned vessels.

You stay in close contact with clients and maintain good working relationships with client representatives.

You will be trained in preparing and executing Drydock activities.

You perform vessel visits, audits and inspections.

You overview and authorize necessary expenditures.

You ensure compliance with environmental compliance policies.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent, or a valid Chief Engineer's Certificate

Experience on relevant vessels, preferably of the same type as those supervised
Skills & Competencies

Leadership and people management skills with a coaching and mentoring mindset

High level of organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability

Team-oriented, proactive, and safety-focused approach

Fluency in English and solid computer literacy
