About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of building intelligent systems that drive Orbem's next-generation imaging technology. Your primary responsibility will be designing and delivering scalable, production-ready machine learning solutions that seamlessly transition from prototypes to real-world applications. Collaborating closely with data scientists and software engineers across various teams, you will shape the core architecture that transforms breakthrough ideas into tangible products.
The ideal candidate will be a driving force for engineering excellence, setting best practices, elevating standards, and championing high-quality machine learning initiatives at every stage. With a production mindset, passion for impact, and a visionary approach, you will help unlock the next era of AI-powered MRI imaging, propelling Orbem towards becoming a leading machine learning powerhouse in the industry.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background and align with Orbem's core values of ownership, continuous improvement, and innovation. Key qualifications include:
- Deep expertise in PyTorch and distributed training frameworks.
- Proven experience in ML system design, including optimizing model architectures for efficient inference and training.
- Experience building and automating complex data pipelines for machine learning workflows.
- Familiarity with tools and platforms for ML deployment and production environments.
- Strong Python programming skills, with a focus on best practices and design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems and creating reproducible, containerized environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based scaling and automation of ML workflows.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding cross-functional projects and influencing technical roadmaps.
- Experience working with CUDA, GPUs, and 3D data, especially in healthcare applications, is highly desirable.
- Understanding of data privacy, security, and techniques like federated learning.
Responsibilities
As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design and implementation of scalable ML systems that meet production standards.
- Developing and refining codebases for training ML models, emphasizing modularity, robustness, and scalability.
- Collaborating with data scientists to train, fine-tune, and optimize machine learning models.
- Optimizing and troubleshooting ML models in production, focusing on reducing latency and memory footprint.
- Deploying and continuously monitoring ML models to ensure stability and performance in real-world environments.
- Growing the team's expertise in production ML tools, frameworks, and best practices.
- Guiding and mentoring team members to adopt high-quality ML engineering standards, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
